Foot Placement

The foot placement for this trick is basically an Ollie position, but the front foot is pulled back slightly in both directions. Your back foot is also similar in comparison to the Ollie, except the back foot's toes need to be placed over the toe side curve of your board.

Step 1 Picture

Step 1: Pop your tail

Also a like the Ollie, you will need to pop, except in the kickflip it needs to be quicker and more calculated in the fact that it needs to match the strength of your flick.

Step 2: Flick

Immediately flick your board towards the toe side (when you're learning to do this trick it may help to learn flicking off to the side rather than straight off of the front, however once you have mastered the technique of flicking kickflips; than it is better to flick out the front because it balances out your board better and it looks smoother), when you flick make sure not to lean too far backwards or your board will flick out of control, way in front of you, so try to keep your body balanced forward and in moderation.

Step 3: Land

When doing this you will need to stop the spin of the board with your back foot when it has reached the end of its rotation. After practicing this trick, over time you will develop the skill to sense when it is the right time to stop the flip without having to watch it spin. One problem that has a possibility of arising, is the flaw of not being able to get your front foot back on the board, this is caused by your comfortability and balance with the trick. This can be solved by finding better stability with the trick by flicking out forward which will level out your board better, ergo taking away the fear of the loss of balance.
